The institution encourages research activities among faculty and students. Final-year undergraduate students are encouraged to do real time research work as a part of partial fulfillment of the requirement for the degree. Postgraduate students are also encouraged to do innovative research apart from the completion of the dissertation. The research work of the students are guided by faculty members.

Faculty and Students are encouraged and motivated to participate in Research day which is celebrated every year in the month of February. Silver and gold medals are awarded for best papers. Periodic research methodology and biostatistics workshops are organized.

Department of Biostatistics is available to mentor the research methodology and biostatistics aspects of research. Seed money for research is provided for faculty and students through SRM selective excellence project.

Faculty members are encouraged to pursue Ph.D. programmes. Every year the Ph.D. scholars have to do poster presentations in the research colloquium. Faculty members are encouraged to publish their research work in Scopus-indexed journals annually.
